Elixir Group: Industrial Waste-to-Energy Visualization This case study highlights the creation of a high-complexity industrial animation for Elixir Group’s waste treatment and energy recuperation facilities. The project focused on "opening up" massive industrial machines to reveal the sophisticated thermal and mechanical processes that drive sustainable energy production. About the Project Elixir Group is a leader in the chemical industry, transitioning toward a circular economy through their "Waste to Energy" initiative. They required a visual tool that could explain the inner workings of their waste treatment facility—specifically how non-recyclable waste is transformed into useful thermal energy. The challenge was to take a massive, opaque industrial complex and make its internal functions transparent and easy to understand for stakeholders and partners.

Our Approach

To showcase the "heart" of the machinery, we moved beyond external architectural rendering and focused on functional transparency: X-Ray & Cutaway Techniques: We developed detailed 3D models of the bubbling fluidized bed boilers and incineration chambers, using cutaway animations to show the movement of waste and the release of thermal energy. Process Flow Simulation: Using particle systems and dynamic effects, we visualized the flow of materials through the facility—from initial delivery and sorting to the high-pressure steam production used in phosphoric acid concentration. Technical Accuracy: Every gear, conveyor, and filtration layer was modeled to match the engineering specifications of the Prahovo industrial complex. We emphasized the "5R" principles (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recovery) by visually tracking the journey of a waste unit as it becomes a resource. Material Realism: We balanced clean, technical aesthetics with realistic industrial textures—weathered steel, high-temperature glows within the furnace, and the specific viscosity of treated liquids—to ensure the animation felt grounded in reality. Results and Delivery The project resulted in a comprehensive technical explainer that serves as both a marketing asset and an educational tool. Mechanical Clarity: The animation successfully demystified the waste-to-energy process, making the invisible visible through internal machine views. High-Fidelity Output: Delivered in 4K resolution with "cinematic industrial" lighting that highlights the scale and precision of Elixir’s operations. Versatile Assets: We provided a master animation alongside shorter, focused clips of specific machine cycles (e.g., the filtration phase or the steam turbine) for use in digital presentations and environmental impact reports.
